NanoPi NEO Core is an advanced alternative to the NanoPi NEO, designed to work as a CPU board with male pin-headers. It maintains the same form factor, pin descriptions, and OS image compatibility as the original NanoPi NEO, while offering greater flexibility. The connectors and ports are mapped to pin headers, and it also provides an optional onboard eMMC flash, making it highly suitable for industrial applications. Powered by the popular Allwinner H3 SoC with onboard 256M/512M DDR3 RAM, the NanoPi NEO Core is available in multiple models offering 8GB, 16GB, or 32GB eMMC storage options, as well as a version without eMMC. FriendlyElec has also ported FriendlyCore-Xential (based on UbuntuCore) with mainline kernel 4.14 to ensure excellent software support.

Compared to the NanoPi NEO, the NanoPi NEO Core has an optimized power circuit design that improves efficiency and reduces overheating. In testing, the CPU temperature remained below 30C under regular usage, highlighting its reliability. To further extend its functionality, FriendlyElec offers a Mini Shield designed for the NanoPi NEO Core/Core2, with the same form factor as the Raspberry Pi 3. When connected, the assembled module fits seamlessly into a standard Raspberry Pi 3 case, providing robust expandability and industrial-grade performance.
